Glass Protection System

The ClearShield System

The world's only non-stick glass surface treatment — a complete renovation, protection, and maintenance system certified to ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.

How It Works

A Polymeric Resin that Bonds with Glass

ClearShield® works by forming a strong chemical bond with the glass surface at a microscopic level. Unlike coatings or films that sit on top of the glass, the treatment becomes part of the glass itself.

The result is a permanent non-stick surface that repels water, dirt, grime, and biological growth. Glass treated with ClearShield is dramatically easier to clean and stays clean for much longer.

The complete system includes renovation (restoring existing glass), protection (applying the treatment), and maintenance (preserving the treatment for long-term performance).

Benefits

Why Choose ClearShield

The only glass treatment that delivers all of these properties in a single certified system.

Non-Stick Surface

"non-stick" – meaning it is chemically inert and non-reactive to most substances preventing chemical bonding of contamination and the build up of atmospheric pollutants.

Easy Cleaning

Glass remains cleaner for longer and is dramatically easier to clean and keep clean.

Light Enhancement

Improves all-round visibility and returns to pristine as-new condition after cleaning.

Durable & Long-lasting

Durable, lasting for many years, and reduces casual abrasion of the glass during handling, transit, installation and maintenance.

Low Maintenance

Requires 50% less routine washing on average – so is low-maintenance and energy-saving.

Warranted Protection

It is warranted that the ClearShield System will remain present on the glass as a strong chemical bonded surface protection for a period from 5 and up to 15 years depending on location and maintenance.

The Process

Complete System in 3 Steps

01

Assess & Renovate

We assess the current glass condition and apply the renovation system to restore original clarity, removing limescale and all contamination.

02

Protect

The ClearShield protection treatment is applied, bonding with the glass at a chemical level to create a durable non-stick barrier.

03

Maintain

The ClearShield maintenance products are used in routine cleaning to preserve the treatment and extend its long-term performance.

The Science

ClearShield at a Glance

Understanding why glass needs protection — and how ClearShield delivers it.

Glass Behaves like ‘Metal’

The corrosion in glass is as real as metal corrosion. New glass promises clarity, visibility and cleanliness. Glass breaks its original promises because of environmental conditions and physical and chemical properties of glass.

The surface of glass is not smooth. Glass is a reactive material. The surface of glass is corroded by water vapour and alkalinity.

Unprotected glass is highly reactive with:

  • Limescale
  • Metal oxides
  • Traffic Pollution
  • Silicone run-off

The ClearShield Eco-System… what does it do?

Renovation of Glass

Before ClearShield Eco-System is applied we need to get the glass surface back to ‘as new’.

Protection of Glass: ClearShield Eco-System

ClearShield is a polymeric resin sprayed onto the glass surface that:

  • Becomes part of the glass through a strong chemical bond
  • Follows the contours of the glass and forms a very thin (<1μ thick), multi-molecular protective layer thanks to its unique cross-linking property
  • The application creates a new, higher quality of glass, ClearShield Eco-System, whose surface is now chemically inert

ClearShield vs. Silicone Products

A silicone is always a polymer, but a polymer is not always a silicone. ClearShield is a polymeric resin but is not a silicone.

Why this matters:

Silicone-based products form a weak, mono-molecular layer with a single bonding site at one end of the polymer chain only — offering only temporary protection. ClearShield forms a strong chemical (covalent) bond with bonding sites all along the polymer chain, creating a multi-molecular, durable protective layer.

So how does ClearShield work?

The surface of the ClearShield Eco-System is more resistant to corrosion from water vapour, and because chemically inert, it is ‘non-stick’. This means that:

  • Less dirt and other contaminants stick to its surface
  • When they do deposit onto its surface, they no longer chemically react with it, and are easier to remove
  • The absence of dirt and other contaminants prevents staining and discolouration

The result is:

  • Unique & higher quality of glass
  • Increased value, low maintenance glass
  • Proven long-term results
